A FRIENDS NIGHT OUT? WEDDING, STAFF, OR BIRTHDAY PARTY?

Colony Espresso & Beer Co. currently accepts reservations for such events with parties of 10+ and will reserve a table or section for you accordingly. Just shoot us an email (info@colonykc.com) and we will get back to you with the more details, otherwise as always it is first come first serve. Colony is also a great venue to host private social parties! Reserve Colony for your wedding, staff, or birthday party and enjoy the finest craft beers, coffee, and service around. We recommend parties between 20-45 to fill up the room, however, Colony can accommodate most requests. We do also work with local catering companies to allow for flexible food options. Email us and Zach or Drew will get back to you details as quickly as possible.

Latte Art Throwdown

  • Colony Espresso & Beer Co. 312 Armour Road North Kansas City, MO, 64116 United States (map)

Colony is hosting their first Latte Art Throwdown, October 1st at 8pm.

If you've never been to a latte art competition, let me run through some rules for you. Two competitors go head to head each round. First, they draw out of a hat to see what they will pour.  This could be a heart, a rosetta (the one that looks like a leaf,) or a tulip. While one assigned barista pulls espresso for each set, the competitors will steam the milk for themselves. Each barista will pour his latte and present it to three judges who will decide on the winner. Latte art throwdowns are single-elimination, so the winner will move on to the next round while the loser is knocked out entirely. If we have an odd number of competitors in any round, the third person will get the by.  Make sense? Good.

$5 gets you a buy-in to the competition and a free beer. Everyone will drink beer and watch the competition :)

The winner will take everyone's $5 buy-in and some swag from Colony, so be ready to pour your best stuff.  It's going to be a lot of fun.
